Meet Amy Pope-Latham, MSW, LCSW
I find much joy and passion through my work as a nurturing and interactive therapist. I provide a holistic and a medically-focused approach to therapy (body, mind, neurobiology and physiology) for every part of us is uniquely interconnected: our thoughts, behaviors, and our nervous systems. What I find to be most important in life is the authentic journey we create for ourselves. When we are brave enough to explore what keeps us from deep sadness, I believe we are then ready to begin the healing process.
I am a licensed clinical social worker with extensive experience in treating children, adolescents, adults, and families. As a former collegiate NCAA athlete, Ocean lifeguard, and EMT, I received my B.A. in Psychology from Stony Brook University. I also received my Masters degree in Social Work from Stony Brook University's School of Medicine and Social Welfare.

Much of my therapeutic framework has been centered from an Existential background (this is how you exist and relate to the world around you based on your own experiences). I offer EMDR, as well as Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). I largely incorporate Evidence Based Practices and Somatic (mind/body approaches), and Mindfulness-based Therapy for a variety of presenting symptoms such as grief, anxiety, complex trauma, obsessive and compulsive thinking patterns, and substance use. Together we will explore weekly accomplishments that will assist you in reaching your therapeutic goals. It is very important for me to provide you with a safe and trusting environment where you can speak openly and feel heard.
Therapy is a rare and personal experience and needs to be tailored to each individual. You deserve a safe place to uncover your truths. Together we will explore your past and your present in order to create positive life goals for your growth and future. You are the most important part of this process and your voice will be heard. My hope for you is to feel empowered after leaving your therapy sessions, knowing you can find relief, comfort, and joy again.
